Futurism

Grade 6 students will soon start to look at one of the most important, and well know, Italian art movements which gave us importants artists such as Umbert Boccioni, Gino Severini and Carlo Carra'.
FUTURISM!!
Students will look at the ideas behind this art movement, the work of the artists connected with it and we will learn some of the techniques they used to make their art works.

Marc Chagall

Welcome to grade 6 and the Middle school!!
Starting the year of with grade 6 in art we will be looking at Russian artist Marc Chagall.
This is an art work by the Chagall called "The Juggler".
Students will start to work in a variety of materials including Oil pastels and paints.
Home work.
Find and print out at home some artwork by Marc Chagall to put in your work book.

Learner profile, attitudes and Inquiry cycle story quilt.

Students need to start bringing in equipment to decorate their story quilts.
Homework.
If there are cars, people, children, airplanes and so on on your quilt you need to print out pictures of these and bring them in. We can trim them and stick them on the quilt to give it an even more slick look!!

Faith Ringgold

Tar Beach (Part I from the Woman on a Bridge series), 1988. Acrylic on canvas bordered with printed, painted, quilted, and pieced cloth, 74 5/8 x 68 1/2 inches.
